The Texas AFL-CIO Committee on Political Education (COPE) has posted its list of congressional and legislative endorsements for the 2016 election cycle.

The COPE previously announced statewide endorsed candidates. Congressional and legislative endorsements posted today are the product of Central Labor Council (CLC) processes across the state. The CLC endorsements have been adopted by the Texas AFL-CIO COPE by action of the Texas AFL-CIO COPE Convention held in January.

An endorsement requires a two-thirds vote.

COPE is the political arm of the Texas AFL-CIO, a state labor federation of more than 235,000 affiliated union members who advocate for working people in Texas.

“The candidates on the Texas AFL-CIO COPE endorsement list can be counted on to pursue a raising wages agenda in Texas,” Texas AFL-CIO President John Patrick said. “The Texas AFL-CIO COPE is engaging in grass-roots operations to turn out our members’ votes on behalf of  our endorsed candidates.”
